There are more than 200 precision engineering companies in Singapore. Some of Centrepoint’s competitors already have a business website to tap onto the online market. Centrepoint needed a digital platform to increase visibility, promote services and collect customer feedback.
Objective is to develop a professional website to market its products and services at an affordable price.
We built a site with strong focus on user experience and keeping content relevant. The gear system was adopted as the homepage design to signify the entire supply chain of the Centrepoint’s customer. The gear wheel, which Centrepoint also produces, is integral for the system to work together. The site was designed to fit well within the screen so as to eliminate scrolling. We made it a point that every page has a contact form so that there is no chance that any customer enquiry will be missed.
We designed some mockups for the website. Our design direction was to have a clean web-front in white and red color scheme, aligned with the company logo colors. Since this is Centrepoint’s first website, we had to create the site content from zero. Using an extensive discovery process and with the help of the business development personnel, we captured the most relevant product information and images.
Before we launch the website, it was imperative that the site works as designed. We invited the user to test and experience the site first-hand. We made sure that we could navigate the site and access its core content, all the links and buttons worked as they should, the content looked right in every page of the website, a completed contact form could be sent and delivered successfully.
With the mobile version becoming the norm, we conducted a review of the mobile site in order to give Centrepoint maximum exposure to their audiences. The loading speed of the pages greatly contribute to the site’s overall experience. Behind the scenes, we ensure we were following the guidelines for optimizing images so as to deliver a seamless visual transition.
We completed the web development project within budget. Centrepoint is probably the first precision engineering company in Singapore with a mobile responsive website. It now boasts an online product and service catalogue. This is a good start for a small local company. Opportunities exist to boost the ranking of the website in online searches that can quickly increase visitors and sales.
